“Out Of This World (not just Africa)”

We arrived at Chrislin African Lodge and were greeted warmly by John who led us to our “Mud Hut”. It is unlike any mud hut I’d imagined. It has the most enormous and comfortable bed imaginable and it has everything one would need for a very enjoyable stay. The grounds around the huts are well kept and the swimming pool and pool house are lovely places to while away your time. We enjoyed an evening meal at Sneezewoods (on site) and a fresh and tasty breakfast at the start of our day. All food is cooked to order and was delicious. The staff
were all helpful and gracious with nothing being too much trouble for them.

“Delightful stay”

Would recommend this place to anyone. It’s so peaceful, very relaxing and a wonderful spacious room – we had a sunset room. It was just gorgeous. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! And Being so close to Addo was a plus. We used Crisscross for a river safari and a full day safari – excellent!

“Happiness at Addo”

Chrislin Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. It feels immediately safe, welcoming and relaxing. The lodges are lovely; large, clean and the most comfy bed i had in SA. The food is really good home cooking, served with smiles.

Very lovely and quiet place, just outside of the village and not too far from the Addo National Park main entrance. The lodge are very comfortable and you can get in touch with the nature with the beautiful view outside the window. The restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful where they can help.

Rooms are absolutely amazing & the whole team were lovely.

“A local family feel”

This is an excellent place to stay for relaxing and visiting the Addo Elephant Park. Rachel greeted us on our arrival and was very friendly as was all the staff.

We booked one of the sunset rooms which is a thatched semi detached spacious room with a local African feel. The room was spotlessly clean with an en suite bathroom and a huge shower.

We loved it.

There’s a swimming pool and an area to relax with sun beds. The food is faultless. A set evening meal is served in the sneeze wood dining area. The place has a real local family feel about it. This place was over and above our expectations.

“A great experience”

Lynda was a warm and friendly host to our party. The food was superb. The staff were all excellent – friendly and very helpful. The pool was refreshingly welcome. The gardens were beautifully tended and we had a wonderful stay. The beds were huge, the sheets cool, crisp & clean. We stayed in the luxury Rondavel Huts, which were spacious and spotlessly clean. A terrific few days of luxury and Elephant spotting! Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

“An incredible experience close to Addo national park”

Highly recommend this place for anyone wishing to visit Addo. The breakfast (eggs in particular) was immense. The accommodation itself is first class, they have created a truly authentic place for their guests. The service is brilliant and they are always available to help.

“An incredible few days!”

Chrislin African Lodge is unlike any other accommodation I have ever stayed, but is probably one of the best. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and even the animals provide entertainment. Jack the German Shephard took a liking to my boyfriend and he often guarded us when we ate and slept outside our hut! The huts are fabulous to stay in, lovely shower and a huge comfortable bed. After a days safari we liked nothing more than to come back and drink beers on the veranda and chat to others sitting outside their huts. Food was lovely. All in all, a great few days in Chrislin. We will hopefully be back!

“Very beautiful and perfect Location close to Addo Elephant Park”

The African huts are very beautiful, spacious and surprisingly cool even without A/C (39 °C outside, inside just over 20 °C). The staff is super friendly and try to fulfill all Special requirements. My wife was ill (stomach) and one of the staff spend her private packet soup so that she could restart to eat. For dinner they cooked her a special light dish, so she recovered very quickly.

The Resort is very spacious with a nice pool area and you have a table and chairs in front of your entrance to enjoy the evening. I would recommend to book dinner (which is outstanding) at the Resort.

Another hint is that if you visit the Addo Elephant National park and need a break, you can use the Exit Close to the village of Addo (nearly in the middle of the park) which is only 10 minutes from the lodge and let the ranger there know, that you like to come back. As you have your entrance ticket you can enter there as well.

“Addo elephant national park”

The first destination in our first trip to South Africa could not have been more wonderful. We stayed in a roomy cottage they called a hut on spacious grounds just several miles outside the park. There was a small pool plus a convenient wifi area and a restaurant that served wonderful fresh hot and cold breakfasts and even better dinners. And best of all the lodge was where we were picked up by tour guides in open-air vehicles for our all-day tour of the park and for a half-day canoe trip on the river bordering the park. Everyone at Chrislin was gracious and helpful.
