Schotia is a private game reserve offering the best viewing of rhino, hippo, giraffe and the king of the beasts, lion.
This is a four hour guided game drive in an open Land Rover with a short refreshments. After an amazing experience where you will view more animals than you thought possible, enjoy a delicious dinner which is prepared over an open fire. A short, spotlit nightdrive providing the possibility of more nocturnal animals completes your experience as we return to our reception area.

Guests will be driven on a 4X4 route into a Remote, Pristine, and lush forest section of Addo Elephant National Park, deep in the heart of the Zuurberg mountains. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along a mountain stream that bypasses caves, waterfalls, rock pools and a natural fountain. For a more relaxed experience, you can also choose to kick back and take in the breathtaking scenery, relax in the picturesque surroundings, and float on a tube in a lovely mountain pool. More energetic guests are able to hike through indigenous forests and open grasslands that are rich in fauna and flora. This is a truly personalized experience with unspoilt nature. Lunch is served at a Mountain Pool where you can relax on a floating tube and enjoy this birdwatchers paradise.

The rewarding Day Safaris are conducted all year round and can be tailored to suit the needs. Expect to see cheetahs, rhinos, elephants, hippos, lions, buffaloes, leopards and a host of other exciting animals, including the rare white lion.

The Addo Raptor & Reptile centre, is a Rehabilitation and Education Centre where the needs of the animals under the centre’s care are always the first priority.  They offer an animal sanctuary and recovery centre for sick and injured birds of prey and reptiles, both wild and captive bred.  A large majority of the animals the centre receives are in very poor condition and in need of extensive and veterinary help.

The facility is managed by Darren, who has over twenty years of experience in safe handling of reptiles and beautiful birds of prey.

Other options available to Chrislin guests include hiking, mountain biking, beach trips and freshwater fishing which can be included into your itinerary.
Addo Elephant Back Safaris have a base in a remote valley in the Zuurberg Mountains.  They offer a unique experience “Walk with the elephants” - where one walks through the bush with the elephants and their very knowledgeable and experienced minders.  They also offer an opportunity to ride on the elephants for about 45 minutes.  This is a wonderful way in which to learn more about these giant pachyderms as they go about their business of walking, feeding and watering in their natural environment.  The drive to the Zuurberg is about an hour and a half. They can also do an air charter transfer.
