We came across this gorgeous series of photographs taken by Pieter Venter in the nearby Addo Elephant Park. We just had to share this magical Addo elephant encounter with you. We just love the way that the elephant mother caringly looks after her calf as it slips around in the mud.
‘I loved watching this interaction that demonstrates elephants’ intelligence and caring nature,‘ comments Pieter.
Addo Elephant Encounters are Safari Holiday Highlights
A visit to Addo Elephant Park is the highlight for most guests who stay with us at Chrislin African Lodge. We are located just 12km from the Addo Elephant Park main gate. This makes our unique African huts the perfect base to explore the beautiful malaria-free Addo area in the heart of South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
Addo Elephant Park is home to over 600 elephants, most of whom are relaxed around vehicles. This provides excellent opportunities for many special Addo elephant encounters, especially with the many elephant calves.
Guests can choose to explore the area in their own vehicle or we can arrange a full or half day safari tour with one of the experienced and highly knowledgeable local guides.
If time permits, you might want to consider some of the many other Addo activities. Speak to our team on arrival or email us for more information or to book any of the additional activities to make you stay even more memorable.
